SNC Watershed Conditions: Water Safety Statement

Environment Canada is forecasting a significant weather system that is expected to pass through the region beginning Thursday afternoon until Friday morning.

The current forecast estimates total precipitation amounts of up to 35 mm in some areas, with much of the rain occurring Thursday afternoon before tapering off early Friday morning. A risk of freezing rain is also a possibility. Temperatures are forecasted to be above freezing Thursday and Friday contributing to snow and ice melt.

EDWARDSBURGH CARDINAL - With extreme cold conditions over the weekend, our Township office in Spencerville experienced a pipe burst between the first and second floor, causing significant damage to Council Chambers and the area surrounding it. Once alerted to the issue, there was quick action across multiple departments to locate the source of the water, stop further flooding, and rescue any furniture, equipment and files that could be salvaged.
