The Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal provides a suite of recreational programming for seniors and older adults, which encourage active living, fitness and healthy lifestyles.

Weekday morning walking group
Join a group of adults and seniors, who come out every weekday morning to walk the track at the Ingredion Centre in Cardinal, chat and enjoy each other's company from 8:00 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Seniors tech class
Join our Tech Classes for Seniors to enhance your digital skills in a welcoming and supportive environment! Whether you're looking to learn the basics of Word and Excel, manage your email, explore the internet safely, or discover new tools like iCloud and Google, our classes are designed with you in mind.
Sessions are held:
- Wednesdays October 23 to November 27, 6 to 8 p.m. South Edwardsburgh Community Centre, Johnstown
- Thursdays from October 24 to November 28, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Ingredion Centre, Cardinal
No registration is needed—simply drop in and learn at your own pace! Our friendly instructors are here to help you navigate the digital world with confidence and ease.

Seniors exercise class
The CPHC is holding a free Seniors Exercise Class starting Wednesday, September 18th, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The exercise class will take place Wednesdays at the South Edwardsburgh Community Centre, 24 Sutton Dr, Johnstown. Adult fitness class
This fall we will be offering a boot camp style fitness class for adults, this program will run at the South Edwardsburgh Community Centre. All fitness classes are taught by our energetic instructor. Adult Fitness Class will begin October. Payment is due with registration and refunds will not be issued.
Dates: October 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, November 5th, 12th, 19th, and December 3rd.
Time: 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Cost: Eight classes for $50.00
Participants are asked to bring indoor shoes, water and a yoga mat or towel. Participants are also asked to fill out a Par Q Plus form and bring it to the first class.
Volunteering
Contact us for opportunities to volunteer within the Township. There are many reasons why it's a good idea to volunteer as a senior, including its social benefits, mental cognition improvement, the chance to give back to the community, physical engagement, the opportunity to learn something new, and its flexible time scheduling.
Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence-Rideau
The Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence-Rideau provides leadership opportunities, training and placement for volunteers in non-profit organizations, and helps create a sense of belonging and inclusion in the community for volunteers.

Senior Support Services
Senior Support Services (CPHC) provides client centred services for seniors and their caregivers which promote choice, independence and safety in their own homes and communities. Learn about their various support programs in Spencerville.
Royal Canadian Legion
The Royal Canadian Legion has two branches in the Township, with one in Cardinal and one in Spencerville. Join the Legion to take part in making a difference in the lives of veterans and their families, providing essential services in the community, and remembering the men and women who sacrificed in the line of duty.

Edwardsburgh Cardinal Public Library
Discover the Edwardsburgh Cardinal Public Library's many community resources, including fiction and non-fiction book lending, book clubs, computer and internet access, magazines and periodicals, adult programming, volunteer opportunities, homebound services, tech tutorials and eBooks.
Johnstown ATV Club
The Johnstown All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Club welcomes both casual and die-hard riders. The club's trail system extends from the Husky Truck Stop near Johnstown to Merrickville and area. Club rides, monthly meetings and annual events are provided to members each year.
