General Manager, Port of Johnstown

The General Manager of the Port of Johnstown oversees all aspects of management of both the grain and harbour services with particular emphasis on business and financial management. They ensure the provision of efficient services to all port clients while adhering to all Federal, Provincial and Municipal regulations/by-laws.

Land Use Municipal Planner

Reporting to the CAO, the Land Use Municipal Planner reviews and processes development applications made under the Panning Act and other legislation, and prepared and presents professional planning advice, research, reports and recommendations to the local Councils.

The position is integral to advance development in conformance with the Official Plan, Zoning By-law, and Provincial Policy Statement. The position coordinates applications and correspondence seeking input from department staff and external agencies related to development applications under the Planning Act.

The position will provide up to two days of planning support services per week to neighbouring municipalities through a planning services agreement.

Community Member Recruitment - South Grenville OPP Detachment Board

In 2019, the province announced that significant changes would be made to policing services with the passage of Bill 68, the Community Safety and Policing Act (CSPA). The Act came into force and effect on April 1st, 2024, and replaces the Police Services Act (PSA). The new Community Safety and Policing Act is seen as an opportunity to modernize policing and enhance community safety in Ontario.

Under the new Act is the creation of OPP Detachment Boards, which are required to be established for each detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police. The South Grenville OPP detachment board services the Township of Augusta, Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal and Town of Prescott.
