Wards
The Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal is divided into three electoral wards. Each ward has one elected representative on Council. The Mayor, Tory Deschamps, and Deputy Mayor, Stephen Dillabough are elected at large and represent citizens from all wards.
Meet the elected officials for each ward:
- Ward 1 is comprised of Cardinal and surrounding area and is represented by Councillor Joe Martelle
- Ward 2 is comprised of Johnstown, New Wexford and surrounding area and is represented by Councillor Waddy Smail
- Ward 3 is comprised of Spencerville and surrounding area and is represented by Councillor Chris Ward

Dissolution of Ward Boundaries and Ontario Land Tribunal Hearing
The Council of the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal adopted Bylaw No. 2021-42 to dissolve the ward boundary system of electoral representation and institute an at-large system of electoral representation within the Township. The current ward boundary system dates back to the amalgamation between the Village of Cardinal and Township of Edwardsburgh.
Bylaw No. 2021-42 has been applied and the Ontario Land Tribunal has set a hearing date of November 4, 2021. Click here for more details about the public notice and hearing information.
